Mathru School for the Blind Bangalore

Mathru School for the Visually Challenged--Origin and Growth

Ms G R Muktha started this school in 2001 with very samll beginning--literally in the backyard of her house..A  garden space was used to put up a small cottege with one class room, one office room , a small kitchen and dining space. Later the upstairs hall  of her house was used for another class room and music lesson room. The kind neighbour offered a vacant lot to build another cottage for dormitory...A small hut was used as a chapel for singing bhajans and worship.

Ms Muktha then acquired a small plot from Karnataka Housing Board in New Town,Yelahanka for the present building ,with help from private donors,well-wishers,agencies and so on...A large building ,beyond our wildest dreams ,came into being ,under the watchful eyes and imagination of Ms Muktha..[see the pictures in the album page of this website and details in other pages..]
